A note with the transcript from David Auger explains as follows: "Attached a list of all the Rainham inhabitants who appear in the 52 Kent pages of the Return of Owners of Land, 1873. It is slightly misleading as Sir Henry Tufton of Hothfield probably owned more of Rainham than all of these put together, but unfortunately there is no easy way to work this out."
