      In the name of God Amen The twenty and seventh day of Marche In the xxty [20th] yere of the raigne of our Soveraigne lady Elizabeth by the grace of [God] Quene of England, frannce and Ireland, defender of the fayth, etc.

      I Thomas Adisham of the p[ar]ishe Addesham in the County of Kent, yoman do make and ordeyne this my last will and testament in maner and forme folowyng,

      Firste I comytte my soule unto allmighty God by whose death and passion I stedfastly beleve to have full remyssion and forgivenes of all my sinnes, And my body I will to be buried besides my mother and my wife.

      Item I will to the pore people of Addesham tenne shillings.

      Item I will unto Margery my wife all her moveable goods that she brought to me whiche ar[e] written in an Inve[n]tory made thirdtene [13] day of January In the sixtene yere or the raigne of our Soveraigne lady Quene Elizabeth.

      Item I will unto Margery my wife fyve pounds of lawfull mony of England too be payd her yerely out of my mansyon houses, landes and tenements at Bossington in the p[ar]ish of Addesham aforesayd during the terme of her life at the feasts of th'annunciacon of our lady, and St, Michaell the Archangell by even porcions. And yf the sayd yerely rent or any p[ar]te therof be behind or unpayd by the space of twenty dayes after any of the feasts dayes in the whiche it ought to be payd, that then and as often as it shall happen the sayd yerely rent or any parte therof to be behind it shallbe lawfull unto the sayd Margerye to enter into the sayd lands and to distreyne and the distresses ther(e) taken to leade, drive & carry awaye & in her custodye to kepe untill she be fully satysfied the sayd yerely rent or the arre[ara]ges therof.

      Also my will is that yf the sayd Margery my wife do clayme a dower out of my lands & tenements, that then she shallbe utterly voyde of this my last will and testament, any thing before mencyoned to the contrary notwithstanding.

      Item I will unto every one of my childrens' children due? one a pece?

      Item I will unto Edmond Austen my sonne William Austen's sonne, fyve pounds sterling to be payd unto him when he doth accomplishe th'age of eyghtene yeres.

      Item I will unto Edmond Austen my sonne my houses and lands at bleding hill th'occupation of John Maxsted and all the lands therunto p[er]teyning or belonging, and eleven acres of land beyond the hathe to him and his heyres for ever
      Upon this condition that he shall pay to Thomas Austen my sonne Richard Austen's sonne fyve poundes & to Agnes Austen his daughter fyve poundes of lawfull mony of England within one yere next after my decease.

      All the Residew of my moveable goodes, landes and tenements, my debtts being payd & my legacyes p[er]formed, I will unto Robart Austen & Thomas Austen my sonne[s] and to heyres for ever.

      Item my will is that if Thomas Austen my sonne refuse to pay Robert Austen my sonne the fower score poundes I owe hym or as muche a his p[ar]te therof shall come to pay according to the trew meaning of my will, that then my will is that he shall have no benyfyte by this my last will and testament.

      Provided allwayes that if any of my sonnes be willing to b[u]y any others p[ar]te that one of them shall firste forsake yt before he sell yt unto any other.

      And of this my last will and testament I make Robert Austen and Thomas Austen my sonnes my executors to p[er]forme this my last will and testament.
