Charles Wilmot Jemmett served in the ranks of the 1st County of London Yeomanry in Egypt from 28 April 1915. He was commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant on 28 November 1916, into the 3rd Reserve Regiment of Cavalry, and was attached to the 13th Hussars.
