IN THE NAME OF GOD, AMEN, the 19th day of April the year of our Lord God, 1509, I, ANDREW DODDE, of the parish of Brookland, being in good mind make my testament in this manner wise;
First, I bequeath my soul to almighty God to our Lady Saint Mary and to all the holy company of heaven, my body to be buried in the churchyard of St. Austyn in Brookland foresaid.
Item, I bequeath to the high alter of the same 6d..
Also, I bequeath to ALICE my wife all my moveable goods and unbequeathed the which ALICE, my wife, I ordain to be mind Executrix and THOMAS EDOLF, overseer with her, to see my Will and Testament be truly fulfilled and content and to pay my debts.
This is the last Will of me the foresaid ANDREW DODDE made the day and year aforesaid,
First, I will that ALICE my wife shall have my tenement and 6 acres and 10 acres of land term of 20 years and after the said years I will it shall remain to my two sons, ROBARD and SYMON and to their heirs of their bodies lawfully begotten. And if they die without issue of their bodies lawfully begotten then I will it shall remain to my two daughters JOHANNE and AGNES and to their heirs of their bodies lawfully begotten and forth from hers to hers.
And if my two sons and daughters all died without issue of one of their bodies begot then I will that ALICE my wife shall have the said lands and tenements foresaid term of her life and after her decease to be sold and done for me and ALICE my wife and for all our good friends to priests singing and in almsdeeds.

Probatum fuit suprascriptum testamentum 21st die mensis May Anno domini millimo cccccix (1509) ac approbatum etc. commissiquam fuit administratorum et executrici in dicto testament primates informa juris juramentis.
PROBATE granted the 21st day of the month of May 1509 to the Executrix named in the beforesaid Will in lawful form.
The Will of Austin Dodd of Ashford, yeoman, made 6 Oct 1807, proved 25 Oct 1812.
THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me, AUSTEN DODD, of Ashford, in the County of Kent, yeoman.
First, I hereby revoke and make void all former and other Wills, Testaments and Codicils by me at any time heretofore made and I declare this only to be and contain my whole and entire last Will and Testament.
And as for and concerning all such temporal estate as it hath pleased God to bestow upon me, I give and dispose thereof as followeth (that is to say),
In the first place, I will and direct that all my just debts and the expenses of my funeral (which I desire may be as private as decency will admit of) costs of proving this my Will and all other incidental charges be fully paid and satisfied.
And I give and devise all and singular my messuages, lands, tenements and hereditaments situate lying and being in Ashford aforesaid or elsewhere in the said County of Kent and all and every other my messuages, lands, tenements, hereditaments and real estate whatsoever and wheresoever situate lying or being whereof or wherein I am seized or entitled to any estate of freehold or inheritance in possession, reversion, remainder or expectancy unto and to the use of my dear and loving wife, ELIZABETH DODD, her heirs and assigns forever.
Also I give and bequeath all and every my goods, chattels, household goods and furniture and implements of household and husbandry, plate, linen, china, leasehold, stock, crop, cattle and effects, book debts, credits, stocks, monies and securities for money and all other my personal estate whatsoever and whersoever (subject and chargeable with the payment of my debts, funeral and other expenses as aforesaid) unto my said wife, ELIZABETH DODD, her Executors and Administrators.
And I nominate, constitute and appoint my said wife, ELIZABETH DODD, sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I the said AUSTEN DODD, the Testator, to this my last Will and Testament contained in one sheet of paper have set my hand and seal the sixth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seven.
