IN THE NAME OF GOD, AMEN, in the twelfth year of the reign of our sovereign Lord Charles the second by the grace of God Kind and so forth and in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand six hundred and sixty January the six day, I, JOHN FOX, of Ashford, in the County of Kent, yeoman, being sick and weak in body but perfect in senses and memory do make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament in manner and form following,
First and principally I bequeath my soul into the hands of almighty God etc and my body to be decently buried as my Executors hereafter mentioned shall think fit:
Item, I give unto my son JOHN FOX ten pounds to be paid six months after my decease.
Item, I give and bequeath unto my son ROBERT FOX ten pounds five pounds to be paid to him at the age of twenty and two years and five pounds to be paid six months after the decease of my wife, JANE FOX.
Item, I give and bequeath unto my son JAMES FOX ten pounds to be paid unto him at the age of one and twenty years.
Item, I give and bequeath unto my daughter ELIZABETH the wife of THOMAS FAIREBEARD five shillings to be paid three months after my decease.
Item, I give and bequeath unto my daughter JOANE FOX ten pounds five pounds to be paid at the age of twenty and six years and five pounds to be paid six months after the decease of my wife JANE FOX.
Item, I give and bequeath unto my daughter JANE FOX ten pounds to be paid six months after the decease of my wife, JANE FOX.
Item, I give and bequeath unto my daughter ANN FOX ten pounds to be paid six months after the decease of my wife JANE FOX.
Item, I make and ordain my loving wife JANE FOX Executrix of this my last Will and Testament paying all my legacies and debts and I do request my loving neighbour and friend JOHN SHERWOOD, clothier, to be overseer of this my last Will and Testament to see this my Will put in execution and all my debts and legacies discharged and to be helpful unto my Executrix as need shall require.
Item, lastly I give and bequeath unto my Executrix all my stock of kine and sheep, one colt, household stuff, all my debts, bills, bonds, leases whatsoever paying all my legacies and debts as aforesaid.
In witness whereof I the said JOHN FOX do set unto my hand and seal the day and year first above written.
