      Will of William Nasshe, of Barham, yeoman, made 2 Jun 1547, proved 24 Feb 1547/8.
      In die nomine Amen the second day of June in the year of our Lord God 1547, I, WILLIAM
      NASSHE, yeoman of the parish of Barham in the County of Kent being sick in my body and
      perfect in mind and of good remembrance do make my last Will and Testament in form
      following,

      First I bequeath my soul to Almighty God maker of heaven and earth believing stedfastly to
      be saved only by the merits of the passion of his dearly beloved son Jesus Christ which
      shall come to nudge the quick and the dead.

      As concerning my body I will it be buried in the churchyard of Barham and at my burying I
      desire God's words to be preached and the poor relieved with 2 vessels of beer; a sheape
      [sic: sheep] two bushels of wheat to be baked to give it to the poor.

      Item I bequeath to my son RICHARD NASSHE two horses 3 kine 20 wedders and 20
      ewes one seam of wheat and 4 seams of barley with a brass pot.

      Item I bequeath to my son JOHN NASSHE two horses 3 kine twenty wedders and 20
      ewes the chest the querne the lead one seam of wheat and 4 seams of barley.

      Item my will is that my children shall enjoy these goods moveable at the age of 22 years.
      Item I bequeath to MARGARET WRIGHT my daughter 40 shillings the one half to be paid
      at my monthly mind and the other half to be paid at my 12 month's mind.

      Item I bequeath to the two children of the said MARGARET that were alive at the
      making of this put Will to every of them 10 shillings so that the one be the other's heir.
      And the children to receive their money at the age of 20 years.

      Item I bequeath to MARGERY BASTAR [sic] five pounds of good and lawful money to be
      paid at her day of marriage.

      Item I bequeath to RICHARD CURLE two ewes and 2 lambs.

      Item I bequeath to RICHARD BROWNING ten lambs. So that they remain in the hands of
      mine heirs Executors and assigns the space of 10 years Upon condition that he do dwell and
      abide with my wife the foresaid [sic] term of ten years.

      THIS IS THE LAST WILL of me WILLIAM NASSHE abovesaid as concerning my lands
      houses and tenements with other the appurtenances being and lying in the borough of
      Outelunston [?] and in the parish of Barham.

      First I will that JOHN NASSHE my son shall have and enjoy all my lands houses and
      tenements with their appurtenances being and lying in the borough of Outelunston and in
      the parish of Barham in fee simple so that the said JOHN shall suffer his mother my wife to
      have the chamber in the netherend of the house behind the chimney to have fire and such
      other necessaries in the house and a cow into the pasture.

      Item my will is that RICHARD NASSHE my son shall have all the land in the parish of
      Winsborough according to the Will of Richard Crofte.

      Item I will that the said RICHARD and JOHN shall enter into the said lands and goods,
      both moveable and immoveable, at the age of 22 years.


      Item my will is that and if the abovesaid JOHN NASSHE my son die without issue of his
      body lawfully begotten that then RICHARD my son [sic] and his heirs of his body lawfully
      begotten shall enjoy and inherit the lands of the said JOHN in fee simple. And if the
      abovesaid RICHARD and JOHN die without issue of their bodies lawfully begotten that then
      the land so remain unto MARGARET my wife for time of her life. And afterward to remain
      to my daughter MARGARET WRIGHT [sic] and her children of her body lawfully begotten.

      The rest of all my moveable goods I bequeath to my wife MARGARET whom I do make
      my sole Executrix to see reparations due unto the houses til the children come unto the age
      above written And this my last Will fulfilled and performed and my debts to be received and
      also my debts to be paid.

      And I will my friend THOMAS A DENNE to be my overseer; And for his pains I bequeath
      him 20 shillings.

      This is the last Will of my the said WILLIAM NASSHE made the day and year of our Lord
      God above written, And in the fist year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord Edward the sixth
      by the grace of God King of England, France and Ireland, defender of the faith and in earth
      of the churches of England and Ireland the Supreme head.

      Probatum etc 24th February Ao dm millimo quingenm xlvii juamentes THOMAE A DENNE et
      WILLI STANDER test ac approbatum etc. omisqm comissiq Executrici penatus in forme juris

      Probate granted 24 February AD1547 on the oaths of THOMAS A DENNE and WILLIAM
      STANDER witnesses in legal form to truly perform etc. reserving the right to the
      Executrix named to the same
