  • Notes
    • Ernest marred and had three children. He died circa 1902 as a result of contracting Diptheria. At that time, Frank was sent to live with Roy Lum'bs mother's family. One of Ernest's two daughters died after contracting meningitis. Ernest, like his brother, Walter, worked as a waterman.

Ernest's son, Frank owned the 'Emma' which is still today moored at Hollow Shore about 1-1/2 miles from the Brents. Frank earned the nickname "Turp" (turpentine) but the circumstances for the moniker cannot be recalled. George Thomas reports that he had been sailing on the Emma many times throughout his life. Jim, Frank's son, now owns the vessel and keeps it immaculate.
