THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me, EDWARD MILSTEAD, of the parish of Ospringe in the County of Kent, husbandman made this eleventh day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty-six.
Item I give and devise all that my undivided moiety or half part (the whole in two equal parts to be divided) and all other my parts, purparts and shares of and in all that messuage or tenement with the backside, yard, garden, land, hereditaments and premises thereto belonging with their appurtenances situate, lying and being in Preston Street in the town of Faversham, in the said County, on the east side thereof and now in the occupation of Samuel Clement, his assigns or undertenants, and also of and in all that my messuage or tenement with the yard, garden, backside, land and hereditaments thereto belonging with the appurtenances situate, lying and being in West Street, in the town of Faversham, aforesaid, on the north side thereof and now or late in the occupation of Thomas Rye, his assigns or undertenants AND ALSO ALL other my messuages, lands, hereditaments and premises wheresoever situate lying and being in the Kingdom of Great Britain unto my sister, MARY, the wife of my brother FRANCIS MILSTEAD, and her assigns for and during the term of her natural life she keeping the same in good and tenantable repair and from and after the decease of my said sister I give and devise the same moiety or half part and all other the said messuages, lands, hereditaments and premises aforesaid unto my nephew JOHN MILSTEAD and to his heirs and assigns forever.
I give and bequeath unto my brother, HENRY MILSTEAD, the sum of twenty pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to be paid to her [sic] within one month after my decease.
Also I give and bequeath unto my niece, ELIZABETH MILSTEAD, daughter of my brother, THOMAS MILSTEAD, the sum of five pounds of like money to be paid to her within one month next after my decease.
Also I give and bequeath unto my said nephew, JOHN MILSTEAD, the sum of seven pounds due to me from the old Club of Dredgers of Faversham aforesaid and all other sum or sum of money which at the time of my decease shall be due to me from the said club.
And I also give and bequeath unto my said nephew, JOHN MILSTEAD, all the rest and residue of my monies, goods, chattels, debts, dues, bonds, mortgages and all other my estate and effects whatsoever which shall remain and be left after payment of all my just debts, legacies, funeral charges, the costs of proving this my last Will and Testament and other incident expenses to and for his own use and benefit.
And I do hereby constitute and appoint the said JOHN MILSTEAD sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament and do hereby revoke all former Wills and Testaments by me made.

The before registered Will of EDWARD MILSTEAD, deceased, was proved the seventeenth day of November 1766 before the Reverend George Hearne, Clerk Surrogate to the worshipful Francis Simpson, Doctor of Laws, Official General to the Reverend the Archdeacon of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of JOHN MILSTEAD, nephew of the deceased and sole Executor named in the said Will he being first sworn duly to perform the same, etc.
