Will of John Harper 4 October 1762, probate 26 April 1766
IN THE NAME OF GOD, AMEN, I, JOHN HARPER, of the Town of Greenwich, in the County of Kent, Gentleman, do make, publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament in manner and form following:
First I give and bequeath to my father, JOHN HARPER, the sum of five pounds.
I also give and bequeath to my sister, SARAH BANNISTER the sum of five pounds.
I also give and bequeath to my sister, ABIGAIL HARPER the sum of five pounds.
All the rest, reside and remainder of my estate whatsoever I give, devise and bequeath to my loving wife, AMY HARPER.
And I hereby nominate and appoint my said wife Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Will and Wills by me heretofore made.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fourth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand, seven hundred and sixty-two [1762].

By the above named JOHN HARPER as and for
his last Will and Testament in the presence of us John Harper
who have hereunto subscribed our names as
witnesses thereto in the presence of the said
Testator and in the presence of each other.

THIS WILL was proved at London the twenty-sixty day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand, seven hundred and sixty-six [1766] before the Worshipful Francis Simpson, Doctor of Laws, Surrogate of the Right Worshipful George Hay also Doctor of Laws, Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of AMY HARPER, widow, the relict of the deceased and sole Executrix named in the said Will to whom administration was granted of all and singular the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased, she having been first sworn duly to administer.
