IN THE NAME OF GOD, AMEN, this present fifth day of May 1619 and in the eighteenth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord King James of England, France and Ireland, and of Scotland the two and fiftieth, I, ROBERT MILLSTED of Bethersden in the county of Kent, yeoman, being of perfect and sound mind and memory, though sick of body, I owe God praise, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following, vizt.
Imprimus I commend my soul into the hands of God my maker, and my body to be buried in the church yard of Bethersden aforementioned, and give to the poor of the parish 30s.
Item I make and ordain Mr. Edward Chute of this parish of Bethersden and County pred esquire my full and whole Executor of all my goods and chattels, lands and tenements and to see, perform and finish this my last Will and Testament.
Item I give my Executor Edward Chute 20s.
Item, I give and bequeath unto my sister ELIZABETH HOPPER wife of William Hopper of Woodchurch ten shillings a year for and during her natural life and no longer to be raised and come out of the messuage and lands which I now hold in Bethersden pred.
Item, I give to my sister MARTHA STAPLE widow the sum of ten shillings yearly and every year for and during her natural life and no longer.
Item, I give and bequeath to my sister DENNIS STONESTREETE wife of Rueben Stonestreete of this parish of Bethersden 10s a year for and during her natural life and after the decease of my sisters to remain to Messrs. Edward and Phillipp Chute my Executors two sons forever. And after the decease of my mother MARTHA DOWDE widow I give more unto my sisters ELIZABETH HOPPER, MARTHA STAPLE and DENNIS STONESTREETE 10s a piece more yearly and every year, so long as they shall live.
Item, I give and bequeath to all and every one of my godchilden 12d a piece, to be paid within one yea afte my decease.
Item, I give to my two sisters MARY TILBY wife of THOMAS TILBY of Lenham and unto ANNE DOWDE of this parish spinster forty shillings a piece to be paid within one year after my decease.
Item I give unto Mr. Edward Chute son of Mr. Edward Chute of Bethersden, esquire, my said Executor and unto Mr Phillipp son of Mr. Edward Chute, esquire my Executor of Bethersden aforesaid all my goods and chattels, lands and tenements, my debts being paid and funeral rights discharged equally to be divided between them two. And further after my mother's decease I give all that land and lands and tenements which of right shall fall unto me the said Robert Millsted by her decease or ever.
In witness whereof I the said Robert Millsted have to this present Will and last Testament of mine set my hand and seal the day and year first abovewritten.
