THOMSON, James
Peacefully at the Hotel Dieu Hospital on Thursday, June 18, 1992 in his 83rd year. James Thomson, beloved husband of Ruth Thomson (1978). Jim will be remembered as a dear father to Brian and his wife Jane, beloved brother of Margaret Smith of Florida; special 'Poppa' of David and his wife Elizabeth, Lauri and her husband Dale, and great-grandfather of Ryan. He will be sadly missed by family and friends and all those who knew him. James retired from General Motors in 1975, he was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 350, Port Dalhousie. A member of the Port Dalhousie Lions Club, St. Andrew's United Church in Port Dalhousie. Jim was also a member of the Seymour Masonic Lodge No. 277 A.F. & A.M. A member of the Doric Club, also a member of the Old Boys' Lacrosse Association. Jim has made a significant contribution to sports in St. Catharines over the years.
Mr. Thomson is at the BUTLER FUNERAL HOME, 33 Duke St. (at James St.) downtown. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 22, 1992 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel. Interment Victoria Lawn Cemetery in lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Butler, 684-2334.
