- [S113] Stemmata Chicheleana: or, a genealogical account of some of the families derived from Thomas Chichele, of Higham-Ferrers, Ed., A.S.C., Oxford, England, (Oxford: Clarendon Press, 1765.), Preface, x, 1765.
FLORENCE CHICHELE had three Husbands [Her first Husband was Sir Nic. Peche Kt. and the second John Burton Esq; See table No. 108], but had Issue only by the third, John Darrel of Calehill, Steward to her Uncle the Arch-Bishop, and Ancestor to the Darrels of Calehill and Scotney. The Arch-Bishop purchased the Manor and Estate of this latter place, of the Family of Ashburnham; and gave it as a Portion to his Niece, on her Marriage with Darrel, who settled it on his younger son Thomas [Philpot's Survey of Kent, p. 210]. Agnes, or Elizabeth, the other Daughter of William Chichele, married a Gentleman of Wales.
