George Ruck was enlisted in the Faversham Borough militia. 2 December 1803, the volunteer corps under the command of John Crippens (1st battalion) were to march to Barham Downs the following Monday for a field day. This is an interesting aside inasmuch as since that time, George Ruck was never again heard of in Faversham.
