      Note in record at 1712 that during that year "William Ruck gave 11 shillings towards the restoration of church lands" and was noted as being a proprietor of land himself.

      IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN, the eight and twentieth day of February in the year of our Lord, one thousand, seven hundred and twelve, I, WILLIAM RUCK, of Wye, in the County of Kent, Gent., being of perfect mind and memory thanks be to God for the same, do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form folowing vizt:

      FIRST, I beg of Almighty God thro' the merits of Jesus Christ alone, to forgive me my sins and receive my Soul into Everlasting happiness, my body I commit to the Earth to be buried at the discretion of my Executor and Executrixes hereinafter named.

      And now for the settling of my temporal estate and such goods and chattels as it hath please God to bestow upon me, I do order, give and dispose of the same in manner following:

      ITEM, I do order my land lying in Rucking now in the occupation of Richard Kennett to be sold by my Executor and Executrixes for the payment of my debts which I justly owe and after my funeral expenses and all other debts are paid if any thing remain over and above, I desire the same may be paid to my cousin WILLIAM KENNETT out of the said lands.

      ITEM, the farm I now live in I give to my sister CRUX during her natural life and from and after her decease unto WILLIAM KENNETT, his heirs and assigns forever.

      ITEM, the farm now in the occupation of my Gent friend in Crundale, I give unto my sister LANCEFIELD for life and after her deceased unto JAMES CRUX, his heirs and assigns forever.

      AND my personal estate in general I give unto my nephew WILLIAM KENNETT.

      I HEREBY REVOKE all former Wills by me made and declare thsi to be my last Will and Testament. I now make and appoint WILLIAM KENNETT executor and my sister LANCEFIELD and my sister CRUX Executrices to this my last Will.

      WITNESS my hand and seal the day and year above.

      PROBATE granted 28th March 1713 to WILLIAM KENNETT, ELIZABETH LANCEFIELD and SUSANNA CRUX.

      NB. Notice the disparity of relationship given for William Kennett. Research shows he was a nephew.
