• Notes

  There is an inconsistency between the age at death recorded on the death registration index and the age at burial recorded in the burial register. Age at death on civil registration is stated to be 79 years while the age on burial is state to be 84 years. Age on the 1871 census is recorded as 83 years. These latter ages would put John's birth year circa 1787. It is highly possible that John was in fact born several years before his baptism.
