Eastern Districts Chronicle, York, WA., p. 2 Fri 5 Mar 1920

The death occured at Nurse Anderson's Private Hospital, Perth, on Saturday [28 Feb, a leap year], of Mr. John Henry Thomas Monger, the cause being heart failure. The deceased, who was 56 years of age, was the eldest son of the late Stephen Monger, of York, and Mrs. M. C. Monger, who now resides at Perth. He leaves a widow and seven children to mourn their loss.

The deceased, who was born at Perth accompanied his brother Felix - who predeceased him about two years - to the Gascoyne district in the early eighties, and entering into partnership pastoral pursuits were conducted by them for many years. Owing to failing health the deceased disposed of his northern interests a few months ago and retired to the south. His condition, however, gradually grew worse, and for several weeks the end was almost hourly expected.

The funeral took place at Karrakatta on Monday, the principal mourners being Stephen (son), Mr. Edward S. Monger (brother), and Mr. Gerald Parker (nephew). There was a large attendance of other relatives and friends.
