Notes |
- 9/06/01: Wendy Dypolt of Canada writes: I am looking for any leads on these ancestors. Lancashire is mentioned in the history files we have come across.
My great grandfather, Benjamin Nutt Rayner was born in 1839 in Canterbury England. Benjamin married Maria Wood who was born in Milton in 1837. They lived at #42 High St and also at #11 Station St in Sittingbourne, Kent for many years, where he ran a grocery store. Both are buried in a church cemetery in Sittingbourne. Benjamin and Maria had several children, one of whom is my grandfather: They are:1. Benjamin Rayner born 1867 (lost track of him) He may have descendants in England.2. Frank Rayner born 1875. (Disappeared mysteriously while taking a train to London and never arrived!) Frank may have descendants living in the Kent area.3. Sophie Rayner 1876-1955. Sophie married Percy Chrisfield and they moved to Syracuse New York.4. Charlotte Katherine (or Kate) Rayner born ?? Kate married George Chrisfield (Percy's brother) and they also moved to Syracuse, New York. Percy is listed as deceased 1975 in the US Social Security Index in Syracuse.5. Ada Rayner born ?? Ada married Fred Cullis and they lived at 53 Ellerly St, Fulham Rd, London, after which I wasn't able to trace them. Ada and Fred had a daughter Elizabeth and perhaps a son Fred but I haven't found any birthdates yet.6. May Rayner born ?? She married Harry Taylor and I haven't been able to trace them any further.7. Charles Wood Rayner born Mar 17, 1879. Charles emigrated to Canada and married Mary Esther Simpson (June 3, 1887-Aug 13, 1973) on Aug 13, 1913 (They are my grandparents). He died Apr 13, 1961. Charles came to the US and spent several years there before he came to Creelman, Sask. Canada and later moved to Lancer Sask where he farmed. dwand5@home.com
