    1. [S109] Obituary, Abt 20 Feb 1912.
Obituary of Mrs. Eliza Jemmett Death of Mrs. Eliza Jemmett Mrs. Eliza Jemmett who left here last Wednesday to visit a son in Evanston, Wyo., was brought home Monday afternoon in her coffin. After a pleasant journey she reached her destination in good spirit, and when she retired about 11 p.m. Friday, said she felt better than she had for many months. Saturday morning when her son called her for breakfast she complained of being slightly sick at the stomach and preferred to remain in bed where she dozed naturally and pleasantly. At noon when her daughter in-law went to call her for dinner she was in a sound and pleasant slumber and allowed to sleep on. At 2:20 when her son approached her bedside to insist on his mother taking some nourishment, the pink of life was on her cheeks, but her sweet voice for the first time refused to answer him and her kindly eyes failed to open. She was dead, and another boy had lost his best friend. She had unconsciously passed from this vale of tears where for years she had cheerfully borne a heavy burden, to eternal rest in the great unknown. ……..mother has never returned. If a pleasant death is the greatest known reward for a long, honorable and useful life, she has that reward, as the grim reaper was unknown to her, for she passed from life to death in an enjoyable slumber that knew no pain or sorrow. Deceased was born in Favershane, County Kent, Eng., 69 years ago, and has been a resident of Shelly for the past 12 years, where she became widely known and respected as a midwife and a kind woman. The following children mourn the loss of a devoted mother: Wm. Jemmett of Evanston, Madames Bingerman and Van Duzen of Seattle, Madames Monroe and Croft, Henry and Howard Jemmett of Shelly. Also two brothers, Fred Elliott of Shelly, and Henry Elliott of Belleview, Ida. Also 22 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren are numbered among her progeny. The funeral will take place today from the L.D.S. hall at 1 o'clock. In compliance with the wishes of the deceased the casket containing her remains will be placed in a cement sealed vault at the bottom of the grave. 1/1/2000 --Old, unidentified, Newspaper article in possession of Kathy (DeVore)Brezovec, dau.
