BlackmanstoneBlackmanstone is, ecclesiastically, a rectory in the diocese of Canterbury, in the archdeaconry of Canterbury but there is no church it having been desecrated long since. The parish is very small, having, in 1798, no house within it. The court-lodge has been down for many years, a looker's hut being all that remains on the site of it. The church was situated close on the other side of the road to it, of which there are only two or three stones remaining as of 1798. The lands of it are mostly marsh, some of which are ploughed up. This parish is assessed, with that of Dymchurch, to the relief of the poor, in which latter parish, whenever there are any poor, they are kept and maintained. 2 Blackmanstone, a parish in Romney Marsh district within the liberty of Romney Marsh, Kent, in the hundred of Worth, and lathe of Shepway.
