Brenzett

Brenzett is, ecclesiastically, in the diocese of Canterbury, in the archdeaconry of Canterbury and in the deaneries of North and South Lympne.  The church is named for St. Eanswith with registers commencing 1538.

Brenzett, a parish in Romney Marsh district, Kent;  2 miles southeast-by-east of Appledore rail station, and 4-1/4 miles west-north-west of New Romney.  Post town, Appledore, under Staplehurst.  Acres, 1,802.  Real property in 1860, £5,153.  Population in 1861, 270.  Houses, 55.  The property is divided among a few.

The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Canterbury.  Value, £94.  Patron, the Rev. W. Brockman.  The church belonged anciently to Guisnes abbey in Artois;  has some Norman portions;  and is in good condition.

There is a Wesleyan chapel. ¹
