A View of the Parish

Ditton is, ecclesiastically, in the diocese of Canterbury, in the archdeaconry of Canterbury and in the deanery of North Malling.  Ditton is in the Lathe of Aylesford, Larkfield Hundred.  The church is named for St. Peter ad Vincula with original registers commencing 1663.

Ditton, is a Ditton, a parish in Malling district, Kent; near the river Medway, 1-3/4 mile south-south-west of Aylesford rail station and 3-1/2 northwest of Maidstone. Post town, Aylesford, under Maidstone. Acres, 1,075. Real property in 1860, £2,378. Population in 1851, 255. Houses, 51. The property is divided among a few.

The living is a rectory in the diocese of Canterbury. Value, £298. Patron, the Earl of Aylesford. The church is decorated English; and has been carefully restored.¹
