This is a copy of the Will of William Fagg of Margate, Kent dated 4th July 1786. The Will states that William Fagg died on 13th March 1788 and probate was granted on 22nd March 1788. The Will lists several bequests, including to his wife, Mary Fagg. (William was aged 75 at death, so born c. 1713.)
The Will consists of four pages. The pages measure approx. 42cm x 33cm. The script is on two and a quarter pages. The inside of the fourth page is blank, but the back of the fourth page has the title and dates detailed above. The four pages are held together by a pink tape stitch in the top left hand corner. There is one horizontal and three vertical folds. There is a small tear (about 1cm) through the first two pages where one of the vertical folds meets one of the horizontal folds. The inside of the document is very clean and bright given its age. The outside is a little grubby especially along the fold lines and around the margins.
